Internet Sales Going Through the Roof, but Few Companies are Making the Most of It
Consumers spent £7.7bn online in the run-up to Christmas. This is an increase of 54% from the same period the previous year. Consumers purchased everything from clothing, to toys, to electrical goods.
Rather interestingly, the latest research from Actinic suggests that only 11% of UK businesses with a website are able to process orders online.
Even more startling is that 75% of retailers who accept mail or telephone orders do not have an eCommerce facility.
It seems to me that the vast majority of SMEs in the UK are missing a trick.
