Online Marketing Conference

Last Friday Emily, Louise and Josh attended an Online Marketing conference, run by the e-business club. The day consisted of a series of workshops covering subjects about online marketing which included organic listings, pay per click, affiliate marketing and search engine rankings. One of the sessions was run by Dabs.com, a technology website.

The main message that came out of the day is something we reiterate to clients on a regular basis and is linked to setting up a good business:

• A good website is paramount; you need to understand how people shop and you target market
• Make searching for your site the first thing you do as part of a good marketing campaign
• Make sure you protect you own company and your own trademark
• The internet is changing rapidly, so also consider social networking sites, forums and link building as part of any marketing campaign

Finally, it is important to constantly work on the marketing of your website to ensure you stay at the top!
