Headline Act

This post is slightly more geared to the nuts and bolts of a web page but don't fear it's quite simple when you get to grips with it.Inclusion of H1 ? H5 tags (especially H1-H3) is necessary for search engines to begin to understand what your website is about. Search algorithms are quick to reference your title tags and are the first port of call when keyword searching. The reason for this is that using HTML tags to accentuate any part of your text illustrates importance. So if I want to make the words ?buy shoes online' big and bold then I want users to see this more than the rest of the text. Google uses this as a guide to what the subject matter of your website is. There are other tags that you can use to make certain words or phrases stand out but they all follow this same principle. How this is by no means the only thing that Google pays attention to but it is a factor they weigh highly. By the same tone, though, if you are trying to trick Google by making your titles irrelevant to the content of your website Google could very easily kick you off there search engine. Best practices are to use title tags to title a page and use that title yourself to make sure that you are working to one topic, one page ? this way you have the best chance of good Google rankings and relevance.
