'Unbreakable' encryption

Scientists in Vienna have been working on a new type of encryption based on the idea of quantum cryptography. The BBC article here goes into great detail about this but I will try and give you the highlights. Basically the idea is based on Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle that says then you observe something you inherantly disturb it because of your observation. In the same way if two intended users are communicating over a network and a third party is listening (a hacker) they disturb the communcation and thus get found out.
