Websites for the Weekend - The Sequel
Well, it’s that time of the week again… Going home time! Whether you’re in for a relaxing weekend, or a frantic attempt to do as many enjoyable things as you can why not check out this weeks websites to see if I can dish up some entertainment for you in the second edition of the Websites for the Weekend Blog, which forms part of our Eazytiger Recommends series. Might I suggest:
Home of one of the best film magazines around, but the great thing is you don’t have to pay for it on the web! Whether you’re a film buff looking to check out the future films section, or you just want some reviews on a film that’s on telly to see whether its worth watching, this website is great. Its also really good as you can watch lots of cool trailers – I’d suggest checking out the trailer for the new Borat film for a laugh, the Spiderman 3 teaser trailer for sheer excitement and the Casino Royale trailer for a bit of chic Bond action!
It’s the weekend so, like me, some of you will be planning the best way to assault your liver over the next 2 days. Might I recommend the coolest, most rock star spirit of them all – the awesome Jagermeister. For those of you who already know the wonders of this dark almost reddish brown liqueur then head on over to find out how it can be mixed to make kick ass cocktails! But for those of you who are new to Jager (pronounced Yey-ger) head on over to the site to be educated about this most bizarre tasting liqueur. Be sure to order one at the bar this weekend and impress you mates ha-ha!
This weeks band recommendation comes in an Irish form. Head on over to this site to find out about Flogging Molly, a modern Irish band who mixes folk, rock and punk to generate a lively, foot tapping sing a long. If you get a chance go and see these guys get a ticket, buy yourself a pint of the Black Stuff (Guinness!!!) to get you in the mood and prepare for a good old fashioned jig! You could even take your parents to see them, they’re that accessible to listen to! So make this weekend a green one and bang out some awesome flogging molly tunes. I recommend getting a song called Drunken Lullabies or Within a Mile of Home if your looking for high tempo stuff, but if you want a slower song, and arguably one of my favourite songs in the universe, get If I Ever Leave This World Alive.
Want to know what I’m going to be doing in September..? Probably not is your response. Well just to make you curious it involves 1500 miles, 4 lads in a car, 150 other cars, 600 people, 6 days and a final destination of Croatia! So go on… head over to the official Student Gumball Rally website and see how much fun is going to be had as we hit Europe in a VW Polo on a huge event to be covered by TV… Cool Huh!
