Canoe the Wye

I really enjoyed creating the concept for this site - letting it reflect the richness of the outdoor lifestyle.

This project was clearly not going to be standard eCommerce from the start - we needed to develop a completely bespoke booking system to enable customers to select the number of canoes, the number of people and the dates they wanted.

We set to it and created the simplest system to deliver this functionality. We then added an engaging design to make the process as enjoyable for Canoe the Wye's customers as possible.

A big part of the project was simplifying the booking process for the staff as well, so they could get on with the important aspects of their work and let the website do the administration for them.

What made it so successful

The unique booking system

The core of the whole website was the booking system we created specially for Canoe the Wye.

There are a number of rules that need to be followed in the background, and the user needs to be informed of any important details as they progress with their booking.

Getting the whole booking process onto a single page was important. Letting the customer have a fast, reactive experience was crucial, so that they can amend their details if, for instance, their chosen date was unavailable for the size of their party.

Fast brand creation

When Canoe the Wye approached us to do their website, they also needed to create a brand, but not at the expense of delivering the website to schedule.

We were able to quickly put together a proposal which met the key needs of the brand, and then were able to integrate it seamlessly into the website design
